Biblical Counseling Training Course

A Reformed counseling training program for your church community.

Our basic training course in Reformed biblical counseling is a year-long course offered annually in various locations across the United States. This training program equips pastors, elders, and church members with biblical principles for addressing the problems of life. Our current class offering meets in a hybrid model. Every month, classes gather at a centralized location to discuss materials that students have independently watched and read in completing their assignments. In this class, students cover the following topics:

  • Biblical and theological principles for counseling
  • Methods of counseling and addressing the heart
  • Instruction on various counseling topics (pornography, anger, marriage, depression, etc.)

Students who fulfill all the requirements for the course will earn a certificate of completion (required for certification).

Class Hosting

Our basic training course collaborates with churches and institutions nationwide that are willing to provide a meeting space for our students. This class can be offered as an education opportunity in your congregation (such as a weekly Bible study). Host churches are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Host is a confessional Continental Reformed, Presbyterian, or Reformed Baptist congregation
  • Host exemplifies a history of commitment to orthodox theology and biblical Christian discipleship
  • Have access to a regular meeting space for a small to medium-sized gathering (10-30 people)
  • Provide an organized and welcoming environment for monthly meetings (Example time: 7-9:30 PM)
  • A class coordinator (mature male church member, pastor, elder) who can organize meetings, lead group discussions, and answer questions for students about the program (must hold to Reformed convictions concerning theology and biblical counseling). Class coordinators receive free tuition for the course as a benefit for managing the class and leading group discussions.
  • Stable and reliable internet access at meeting facility
